My work is about supporting and empowering you. Together, we will discover and celebrate who you are today. Therapy isn’t about finding or fixing what’s wrong with you; it’s about embracing your whole self and finding support to navigate life’s challenging moments. I bring a calm and grounding presence to the space with genuine regard and care for my clients. Let’s savor positive emotions, recover from negative emotions, and find glimmers of transformation.
For most of my life, I didn’t know what I wanted to do in my career. However, I did know that helping others would fulfill me. I come from a family of educators, social workers, and open-minded thinkers who are welcoming and loving to all people. My grandfather was an educational counselor for over 30 years and held a doctorate in social work. His specialty was supporting recovering alcoholics and victims of trauma. My grandmother’s private practice as a social worker and psychotherapist was family-centered, specifically with women and children. Being surrounded by family members who dedicated themselves to educating and healing has been a true inspiration and influence. However, it wasn’t until my time studying abroad that I decided therapy and social work would be an excellent fit for me. The time allowed me to learn about mental health, gender, sexuality, politics, and other defining characteristics in diverse cultures including Japan, Vietnam, and Mauritius. The experience jump-started my passion by exposing me to mental health diversity within our country and globally. I want to be a part of individuals’ pivotal life moments and positively impact their personal growth and therapy is the best way to achieve that goal.
Your healing and growth is my top priority. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem, identity development, or other challenges, I am deeply committed to working alongside you. Together we can find peace and clarity through life transitions related to college, career growth and relocation, evolving relationships, and new life phases.
I support couples looking to gain a different perspective on their past, navigate present-day hurdles, and create a secure and meaningful future. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) along with techniques from other modalities, such as Gottman Relationship Therapy and Imago Relationship Therapy. I work with heterosexual and LGBTQ+ couples. Together, we can work to strengthen your communication, increase sexual and nonsexual intimacy, engage in premarital counseling, heal from breaches of trust, address trauma impacting the relationship, and explore commitment.
